About Me
As you've probably guessed by now my name is James Medrano. I was born in Carmichael, California, but grew up in El Paso, Texas. My dad introduced me to video games with Primal Rage on Sega Genesis when I was a little kid, and I was hooked. My fascination for games grew as I got older. Then, when I was 13, I played The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for the first time and I fell in love. I was mesmerized by the freedom of character creation and exploration, every dungeon felt unique, and I didn't feel handcuffed to the story. It was at this point I knew what I wanted to do in life. I began searching for schools that specialized in game design while I was in high school, however, I didn't have money for college at the time. So, I made the decision to undertake a rather lengthy side quest, which promised plenty of adventure, and joined the U.S. Air Force in 2014. After 8 years of service and motivation from my wife, I decided to pursue my dream of designing games and enrolled at Full Sail University. In September of 2022 I graduated and received my Associate of Science in Game Design, and I am currently enrolled pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Game Design.
